Breed Fav's

My husband is out of town and last night as my little Boston Terrier, Baby, snuggled up to my side, I started wondering. What are the qualities that make a dog breed special to you? Everyone has their favorite breed, although there are no sad little doggie eyes that I can resist when it come down to it. My breed is the Boxer. My favorite dog ever was Tia, my white boxer. I call her my "soul" dog. Although I've loved every dog that came before or after her, she is the one that forever has my heart. She died of lymphoma and my life will never be the same. Boxers don't have any idea that they are dogs or that they are any larger than a miniature poodle. Their greatest desire is to be a lap dog. They do what boxer lovers call the kidney bean dance when they are excited. They wiggle and dance and twist their bodies around till they look like kidney beans. She always knew if something was wrong and unconditional love was her specialty. These are just a couple of reasons why Boxers are special to me. After she passed away I moved to a smaller house and as I was getting older didn't know if I had the energy for a Boxer's antics. I read and researched many breeds, but always came down to one thing my new dog had to have-- a smashed in face. I missed Tia's snoring and snorting and now with Baby, I still have that in miniature. She's nothing like Tia. She's a clown, a princess, a diva. Happiness is her calling and she loves to jump and kiss. She doesn't stand for grumpiness or being ignored. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

What is your favorite breed and why?
